It is the hands-on manipulation of deep and superficial muscles, connective tissues and joints to promote relaxation and a sense of wellbeing. The increase of blood flow to the tissues will promote greater circulation to gastrointestinal organs, the lymphatic system, increase flexibility and reduce stress.
There is no greater gift than the personal interaction between practitioner and client and I take that trust very seriously with each of my clients.
The therapy is based on the fact that not only do we have a respiratory rhythm and a cardiac rhythm but we have a cranial rhythm. This is the cranial fluid that surrounds the spinal cord and bathes the brain and when there is a disruption in the flow due to injury or chronic conditions the body is out balance and can cause further issues and symptoms. By gently manipulating the cranial bones we are able to assist the body to rebalance the rhythm, so that it can begin the healing process.
Many clients have found this therapy beneficial when headaches, migraines, and other soft tissue issues from injuries; such as car accidents or sports injuries, are not healing with other conventional protocols.
Reiki is the Eastern energy based therapy that was developed by Usui Shiki Ryoho and means “universal life-force energy.” When the practitioner treats the client, it is believed that the energy will go where it is needed; it can have an effect on them physically, mentally and spiritually. It is a gentle therapy and clients often feel very relaxed after a treatment and have a better sense of wellbeing.
